ACCEL is a 12-week intensive program for innovative start-up companies. Next program will start in autumn 2017.
ACCEL has had over 100 companies through the program, and Innovation Dock is now responsible for the program in Rogaland.
ACCEL Energy was run with great success in 2016/2017, and the next program will start in autumn 2017. The lucky ones who qualify for participation gain invaluable access to customers, investors and the major industrial players in the industry. Our goal is to increase your chance of success!
Since 2011, there has been carried out 17 ACCEL programs. The programs have been hugely popular and has received strong feedback from the more than 100 companies that have been involved.
ACCEL is aimed at early startup companies and runs in Norwegian.
10 companies will be invited to a one-day gathering. In this gathering we will give an introduction to how to work smart to develop their own business ideas.
We will hold a workshop that ends with the companies present themselves to industry stakeholders and investors. The feedback from these will provide the basis for the 5 to 7 companies we pick out to be part of the entire 12-week program.
This program provides an introduction to LEAN Startup. LEAN Startup is a method that focuses on relevant and rapid product and service development. This method helps one to make the right priorities, developing what is relevant without using unnecessary resources.
The course is a combination of theory and assignments in which use of various tools are centrally located, combined with many customer meetings.
ACCEL ENERGY 2016/2017 had the following partners:
DOES IT COST ANYTHING TO PARTICIPATE?
Participation is free. We obviously requires something in return; 100% effort and 100% attendance at all sessions. Free participation is possible thanks to our sponsors. If you don't attend at least 4 of the sessions we will send a "no show" invoice of 15,000 NOK.
WHAT DO WE HAVE TO PAY OURSELVES?
Transport to the course location and possible accommodation is covered by the participants.
For ACCEL to be a successful program where you can share experiences and knowledge, it is important that one can within the program discuss openly about the projects (including ideas, technologies, market conditions, network, and the like).
All participants, contributors, experts and other invited guests must sign a comprehensive confidentiality agreement. The agreement will be signed by all parties and will be securely stored by the project manager for ACCEL.
Competing companies will not be admitted in ACCEL. Furthermore, it is envisaged that companies will present their business plans for each other. The companies will make a short presentation that the other participants have access to, but it is the companies themselves that determine the contents of this.
We will encourage all participants to use the program to discuss their case with other participants. From experience you'll get new contacts, larger network and input to your business idea if you are actively working on this throughout the program.
DO WE HAVE TO ATTEND ALL SESSIONS?
Yes, but there are always opportunities to get an exemption.
HOW MUCH TIME DOES THE PROGRAM REQUIRE?
In the sessions it is proposed that we work long hours. There will be two status meetings a week, one that's open to all the participants and one with your dedicated mentor - a total of 2-3 hours. The participants will also have frequent customer meetings with the industry partners.
WHAT'S THE CRITERIA FOR PARTICIPATION?
To make sure the participating companies will get the most out of the program we have we have the following criteria for admission in ACCEL:
- The Company shall have clear ambitions.
- Project manager / CEO be included in the program.
- We will always try to choose companies with the same technology challenge/background so that the same resources/investors may be interested in all companies.
HVILKE EGENSKAPER SER DERE ETTER?
Below are the main characteristics of the company / project we look for:
- Market potential: There must be a strong market potential and there should be international opportunities.
- Innovation: The product or service must be innovative in the industry you are in.
